What is Black Lit Weekend?
Black Lit Weekend is an annual convening that brings together booksellers, authors, publishers, readers, and literary professionals in a space dedicated to celebrating, elevating, and sharing the Black bookselling experience.
Over the course of four days, attendees will experience:

Our Home for Black Lit Weekend 2025
This year, our home base for Black Lit Weekend will be at Equal Space, located in the heart of Newark, at 550 Broad Street. Equal Space is a dynamic community hub that embodies Newark’s rich cultural landscape, offering the perfect space for Black Lit Weekend programming.
