2026 Children's Book Buyers Retreat

NAIBA and NEIBA are again co-hosting a Children's Book Buyers Summit.
This event is meant for children's book buyers only and runs from Wednesday January 28 to Thursday January 29 in Rhinebeck, NY.
NAIBA has slots for 17 participants from stores whose membership is current. There is a nominal registration fee of $25 and NAIBA will reimburse stores $100 for travel after the event.
The event begins on Wednesday at 12:30pm with lunch, and ends on Thursday at 2pm following lunch.
Once again our buyers will have a chance to meet with publishers in a small and focused environment. Each publisher is there to get buyer input on just a few titles in an upcoming season, and each will make their own unique presentations.
This is also an opportunity to spend time with your fellow book buyers. A large part of our time together will be in group discussion on challenges, ideas, tips, and discussing books. That agenda will be created by the participants in the retreat.

Hotel
Buyers are responsible for booking their own hotel rooms at the Beekman Arms. The rooms for this event are $189/night. Your confirmation will include exact details on how to book the room for this rate.
There are no elevators, so please ask for a ground floor room if you have accessibility concerns. There are a very few fully ADA-accessible rooms in their other buildings. The meetings rooms are on the first floor, and parking is available close to the building.
Our event will be held in the Wayfarer Room of the Beekman Arms, which is on the first floor and is accessible.
