HarperCollins: Sales Support Associate

HarperCollins is seeking a Sales Support Associate for the Independent Retail Channel. This position will work with the Adult and Children’s Sales Directors and be a liaison for the Field and Telesales Reps, supporting this vibrant and growing area of our business. We are looking for someone with a passion for books, a love of reading, and the desire to join this enthusiastic and dedicated team. The ideal candidate has some publishing experience and is eager learn more about the business through the lens of the sales department. This role will report to the VP, Deputy Director of Sales. 

Responsibilities

  • Creates monthly newsletters for both Adult and Children's new titles, as well as thematic newsletters as needed.
  • Prepares rep reports for the monthly Adult and Children's Indie Rep Marketplace & Title updates.
  • Manages New Bookstore program enrollments.
  • Supports the Sales Directors with reporting on sales in the indie channel, including title history, comp title sales, as well as overall performance.
  • Sets up seasonal stock offers and flash promotions.
  • Assists Sales Director with the Backlist Program sign ups and HCPF updates.
  • Works with Sales Director to manage account and rep changes and Monitored Account Review.
  • Updates the Indie Info Website regularly with upcoming book covers, videos, and additional content.
  • Attends seasonal sales meetings with a goal to support the Sales Directors in positioning our titles for the sales reps and the indie marketplace.
  • Manages the Indie Rep Team channel in Microsoft Teams.
  • Sends out the monthly Add-on title reminders to reps.
  • POS weekly top 100 file set up, updating catalogs.
  • Monitors HarperIndieTeam inbox.
  • Acts as an additional in-house resource for the field reps.
  • Provides general administrative support for the department.
  • Additional ad-hoc projects as assigned by management to support the needs of the business.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience required
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

The salary range for this position is $51,500-$55,000. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company.  As a result, we aim for flexibility in structuring competitive compensation offers to ensure we are able to attract the best candidates. The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
