Member Benefits

Welcome to NAIBA!

We are the New Atlantic Independent Booksellers Association. Our territory includes: New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia as well as northern Virginia. If your store is outside of our region, you are still welcome to be a member! Many stores join to have access to our programming and resources. Bookstores can be members of more than one regional trade association if they choose.

Our nearest neighbors are NEIBA, the New England Independent Booksellers Association, and SIBA, the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance.

Bookstore

Any independent business in this region principally engaged in the sale of books, with a physical location or an ongoing roaming physical presence. 

A Bookstore Membership in NAIBA is $100/year and entitles all employees of the business to NAIBA member benefits.

Bookseller (Prospective Store Owner)

Prospective Bookseller/Store Owner membership is for those in the planning phase of opening a physical or transient bookstore.

A Bookseller/Prosepective Store Owner Membership in NAIBA is $50/year and gives you access to all of NAIBA's resources.

Publisher/Vendor

All publishers, wholesalers, manufacturers, and their representatives having regular business dealings with independent retail booksellers are eligible for Associate (non-voting) membership. 

A Publisher/Vendor Membership in NAIBA is $195/year and entitles all employees of the business to NAIBA member benefits.

Author

Authors whose work is sold through the independent bookstore channel are welcome to join NAIBA.

An Author Membership is $150/year and includes:

  • a one time complimentary promo in the NAIBA newsletter
  • a list of regional bookstores
  • an exhibitor discount for our Annual Conference
