NEIBA & NAIBA are hosting another Children’s Book Buyers Summit. This invitation is meant for buyers only. Space is limited so please read the information below and let us know immediately if you can join us.

Children’s Book Buyers Summit

Tuesday & Wednesday, March 3 & 4

Beekman Arms

Rhinebeck, NY

Four publishing houses will be in attendance, sponsoring our four meals. The publishers will each be doing something different – some will provide manuscripts for a 2020/2021 title looking for marketing ideas and cover design. Others may have editors on hand to talk about their acquisitions. They are each still working on ideas but this will be an opportunity to spend time with them and your fellow book buyers on focused projects.

A large part of our time together will be in group discussion on challenges, ideas, tips, and discussing books. That agenda will be created by the participants in the retreat.


The schedule:

Tuesday, March 3

11am – 12 Noon arrival

12:30pm – 2:30pm Working lunch with publisher

2:45pm – 5:00pm  Group discussion

5:00pm-5:30pm Free time

5:30pm – 7:30pm  Working dinner with publisher

8:00pm – Reception with authors at Oblong Books


Wednesday, March 4

8:30am – 10:30am Working breakfast with publisher

10:45am – 11:45am Group discussion

12 Noon – 2:00 Working lunch (we are asking everyone to stay through the end)


There is no registration fee. Meals are provided.

The hotel is $175/night, not including tax. NAIBA will reimburse its member bookstore $100 towards their hotel after the event. Hotel Reservations (you have to make your own): (845) 876-7077
