Gatherings and socials are open to all booksellers in our region. It is so good to get out of the store for a day, talk shop, get new ideas, and find out how creative you've actually been when you share your ideas with others.We encourage you to send your staff so they may meet the other enthusiastic booksellers from your immediate area.

Owners Retreat

Children's Book Buyers Summit  

Tuesday & Wednesday, March 14 & 15, 2017 The Beekman Arms, Rhinebeck, NY

Publishers will use the expertise of children's book buyers to review books in the manuscript stage and provide feedback on the story, marketing plans and jacket art.  Those featured books will be sent to the attending book buyers in advance.



Publicity Speed Dating

March 2017, (Date to be announced) 9am at Caroline’s Comedy Club, New York City

A favorite among booksellers and publishers, event managers have the opportunity to have a series of fifteen minute one-on-one appointments with publishers from all the major houses to introduce their store and book author events.

Independent Bookstore Day

Independent Bookstore Day (IBD) is a celebration of books, readers and indie bookselling, modeled after the extremely successful Record Store Day. Stores are encouraged to create events, displays and invite authors to their store on April 29. To show their support for indies and help drive customers into your stores, publishers produce unique, limited-edition books and literary art pieces that are only available at participating bookstores on Bookstore Day.
